Porsche 911 Turbo painting

My latest project that I’m working on is a Porsche 911 Turbo painting. The 930 generation Porsche is probably my favorite version of the 911. When I was a kid, this was the iconic bedroom poster, alongside the Countach and Testarossa. I wanted to make a painting of a red 911 racing down an open road during a beautiful sunny day.

FJ60 Painting

Another painting I started during the pandemic was the FJ60 Land Cruiser. This might be my favorite model of the Land Cruiser. I chose to paint this version in a color/graphic scheme that was very 80s. I really loved getting lost into the details. I finished this painting in June.

A scarab painting I finished in April

This was another painting I finished earlier this year. I started this scarab painting during the pandemic. I wasn’t satisfied with the original light grey background, so I changed it to a darker color to make the reflections and colors pop.

This was the scarab painting with the old background at my old place.

Princess Painting

I’ve been busy during the past few months! I decided that I needed to update my blog with some fairly recent painting work. This was a princess painting commission that I worked on in July. It took two solid weekends and a couple late nights after work, but the results turned out great!

I've been working on this painting since the pandemic started. I was inspired by Kirk Bennion's posting of the racing version of the C8 Corvette.

With the lighting, I wanted to make the Corvette leave darkness and enter the light. I wanted to emphasize the front details while letting the rest disappear into the background. This was a really fun challenge, and I will work on more paintings.
