FOODSAVER

Jarden asked Axis design with help designing the FoodSaver FM1230. This vacuum sealer takes up less real estate compared to more traditional vacuum sealers.
The FM1230 features a height adjustable head that can seal special containers and zipper bags.
At Axis design, I helped out with concept generation and design sketch refinement.

The FoodSaver FM1230 can lower down to vacuum seal Foodsaver bags that feature a specialized suction area

The head can raise and lower to the various sized FoodSaver containers

The small foot print takes up less counter space in the kitchen compared to bulkier vacuum sealers.

Axis Design owner/design lead, Daniel Phipps finalized the design in CAD

The project kicked off with a few rounds of ideation.

First round ideation explored different types of form factor placements. I looked at where the components can be placed, either top mounted or bottom mounted.

Second round ideation looked at how the selected form factors can be applied to design variations.

The third round explored different styling directions and features.

This sketch page set the design direction that has an incorporated head into the body and a tapered front profile.
These elements were incorporated into the finalized 3D model.
